Stearic Acid may or may not be vegan. It is a fatty acid that can be obtained from killed animals or plants. When derived from animals, it comes from cows, pigs, sheep, and according to PETA, from dogs and cats euthanized in shelters. Stearic Acid is used in cosmetics and lubricants.
