Ferrous Lactate

UPDATED ON December 18th, 2018

(maybe vegan) Ferrous Lactate, also known as E585 and Iron (ii) Lactate, is produced using Lactic Acid. Lactic Acid is usually derived from plants such as beets but can be derived from whey (milk) and other animal products. Ferrous Lactate is used as a food additive – as an acidity regulator, for color retention, and to fortify foods with Iron. Please contact the manufacturer to find out the source of Ferrous Lactate.
