Diethyl Ester Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride is used in some of the most popular liquid fabric softeners in the United States. According to this ingredient’s patent, fatty acid’s are used in its production, and using tallow (fat derived from cows, goats, horses, pigs, and other animals) is recommended, although synthetic or plant-based fats may be used.
