Enzymes

Enzymes are used in dietary supplements, cheese-making, beauty, and cleaning products. There are many kinds of enzymes. Non-vegan enzymes may come from slaughtered animals or from milk from captive mammals. Vegan enzymes may be made from microbes.

Occasionally a label will say “non-animal enzymes” or “plant-based enzymes.”
If it simply says “enzymes,” there’s no way to know whether they’re vegan without contacting the company. So, please contact the manufacturer to find out the source of enzymes.
