Escualane

UPDATED ON December 14th, 2018

(maybe vegan) Escualane is the Spanish word for “squalane” which is derived from squalene. Squalene is found in sharks’ livers and has often been obtained through the cruel process of “livering” which leaves sharks to die a slow, painful death. But squalene can also be derived from plant sources like olives, and more companies have been switching to plant-derived squalene. Please contact the manufacturer to find out the source of escualane or squalene.
